These are both versions of the same shot. This is a yellow rose with backlighting, and it turned out the colors of the first version. The bottom shot was used in the black and white challenge on DPC, and was done with curves, levels and USM.

While I love the colors in the top one, I think I like the bottom one best....I would have loved to imagine what color that rose was....
