Through the Portal

Since it is MSU's fall break, I was able to attend last night's camera club meeting! It was my first meeting since August. Hopefully I won't have a class on Thursdays next semester!

A member gave a presentation on various artistic things to do in Photoshop. I randomly selected one of my photos to try one of the techniques. It reminds me of going through a stargate.

Crossing the Mississippi River

I love the lines of this bridge, but have not been able to find a good way to shoot it. Last Monday, for the first time , I was not driving so I took several pictures through the windshield. (It is as narrow as it looks!)

Editing Fun

I read a tutorial on DPChallenge and decided to try some of the ideas. First, I downloaded VirtualPhotographer--a free plug-in for Photoshop that lets you create a lot of different effects. These were used to create the top image (starting with the HDR photo).

For the middle image, I made 6 copies of the image and varied the brightness on each one then combined using HDR.

The bottom is the original processed mostly in LightRoom. (Resized and sharpened in PS)
