Trains

The camera club I belong to, Southwest Missouri Camera Club, is going to have an exhibit of train shots this June so I will probably have a bit of a theme going for awhile. I spent some time at the Jefferson Street Footbridge this weekend and will post some of my shots over the next few days.

Taken downtown. Unfortunately, the windows had not been cleaned recently, so most of the bottom had to be cropped.

Frozen

I woke up this morning to find we were covered in ice. These were taken from my front porch.

Christ Episcopal Church

The Southwest Missouri Camera Club took a field trip to downtown churches last Saturday. It was a lot of fun--we went to 3 different churches and then stopped for lunch. I haven't had time to process yet, but I thought I would show a couple.

Shootout

From Wikipedia: On July 21, 1865, in the town square of Springfield, Missouri, Hickok killed Davis Tutt, Jr.. in a "quick draw" duel. Fiction later typified this kind of gunfight, but Hickok's is in fact the only one on record that fits the portrayal. The incident was precipitated by a dispute over a gambling debt incurred at a local saloon.
We were told by "Sassy Eyes" (top photo) that after the shooting they ran through the building that is now the restaurant.

Hickok's

Taken last night at Hickok's Steakhouse & Brewery. There are people in wild west costumes on Fridays, but the first Friday of every month they have a shootout. I'll have some pictures from that tomorrow.

Snow Day

I don't think we got as much snow as predicted, but it was enough to close the schools today. All these pictures were taken at the same time, but I used a lot of contrast and brightness on the bottom one, giving it the look of evening.

Frozen

One reason I moved to Springfield from Houston is because there are four seasons here. However, after about a month of winter I am ready for spring! This is our birdbath--full of frozen leaves.

Remains from the Sharpener

I am taking Graphic Design this semester, and we are having to do a lot of drawing--something I am not very good at! It's fun though.
