Stairs at OTC

Taken at Ozark Technicl College. I would like to be able to really set up a shot of these stairs. It's hard during school hours because there is not much space on the landing and I had to keep moving to let people by.

The Fallen

The leaves on the tree in my neighbor's yard are starting to turn, but they are falling off of the tree as soon as they turn. I hope some of the trees keep their leaves long enough for me to get some foliage shots! (Summer weather returned for a couple of weeks, but we are back to fall. I am ready for 70 degree (21C) days!)

Black Hawk

We had a salute to soldiers and veterans at our football game last night. This helicopter landed with a color guard to present the flag while the band played the National Anthem. Soldiers and veterans (most having served in the 1980's-2000's) from the area were acknowledged throughout the night. There was also a 93 year old WWII veteran present. The halftime show included the band playing the songs for each branch of the military, and a moment of silence for area soldiers who have died in Iraq.

It was fall for a few days, but we have returned to summer weather this week. I have not been very inspired this week--I blame the hot weather and being busy.

There are two flower stalks on my hosta. This one is not as tall as the other one, but I like that I could get closer and still include all the flowers/buds.

Autumn Begins

OK, it's not officially autumn, but we have had fall weather this week. It is 58 F (14.4C) at 4:00 PM. Summer flowers are beginning to fade and fall flowers are starting to make an appearance. Fall has always been my favorite season--during my school years it always meant a new beginning, and football season added excitement (I was in Texas then, so it didn't mean cool weather!) Now I get to experience the colors of fall, and I never tire of trying to capture them!
