At the Park

This is my soon-to-be grandson. His mom, sister and he are visiting from Texas, and my son is down from Minnesota. They are now officially engaged, so I will be a grandma in the near future! (My youngest turned 16 last Sunday--it just doesn't seem right!) Anyway, I have enjoyed getting to know them, I just wish I had their energy! They went to the zoo in the morning and we took them to the park in the afternoon.

These tracks seem to go forever.

Java Junction

OK, I've really been cheating this month. I haven't taken any photos since I was in Warrensburg (luckily I took enough there to fill the void!). I also haven't been posting daily. And I had a goal of entering one challenge a week on DPC, but I haven't entered in a while. Sometimes life just gets in the way.

Fall Evening in Warrensburg

The only processing I did on this is crop and USM. It was early evening and the red was gorgeous. (Not the best photo, but I loved the color.)

Break Time

During the break between prelims and finals the band left their instruments in interesting patterns. (They were watched over by a couple of parents.) My son had a lot of fun, but it was also a lot of hard work. I think he is ready to rest a bit! I am always torn when it is over--I love watching them perform, but there are things I miss out on (like camera club field trips). I have been a "band mom" for 8 years with 2 more years to go. I won't know what to do with weekends in October!

Silence of the Drums

Reflections

We spent the last five weekends at band competitions. It will be nice to get back to "normal", but I enjoy watching them march and getting to different parts of the state. They worked hard and had a great show this year. Saturday they ended up first in the prelims and second in the finals, but were less than 1 point behind first.

The Arch

I have never gotten a great shot of the arch. Maybe it's better seen from Illinois, but I never get to that side!

Photographer at Work

I'm not thrilled with the quality of this, but I like the idea so here it is! This is a friend shooting our band competition last weekend.

St. Louis (Again!)

My second weekend in a row in St. Louis! We went to the park at the Arch, then walked to edge of downtown. As has become our tradition, we ate at Morgan Street Brewery--good food and good beer. (This weekend we will be in Warrensburg, MO for our final competition of the season.)
